Opportunities to listen and to learn

During Spring Break 2023, March 12-18, students have the opportunity to learn from and about the Lakota people at Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota.

As visitors, we will be invited into a cross cultural immersion that includes programming and presentations that provide space for mutual conversations and a greater understanding of each other. The focus is on creating healthy, mutually respectful relationships.

We will work together on breaking down barriers created by negative stereotypes and open the door to a deeper appreciation for each other. Each day concludes with a Talking Circle to provide a time of open, honest dialog.

This trip is cosponsored by Lutheran Campus Ministry to UW-Stout, Journey House at UW-River Falls, and The VINE in New York City.
